When was CORHIAN.COM started?
The year was early 2002 and I was recovering from heart surgery with some difficult complications. To have something to do, I decided to update my business web site that was produced by a very elementary turnkey web page creation package. It had a lot to be desired, but at the time I wasn't even sure that I would ever be able to return to work (haven't yet), or ever need a business web site for that matter. Seeing the glass half full though, I decided to tackle the project anyway. Rather than learn more sophisticated programs like FrontPage or DreamWeaver, I decided to learn HTML from the grassroots level and write the pages using Windows Notepad text editor. The only investment needed was a beginners book on HTML.
After finding what seemed to be an economical web hosting company, RPDMS.COM was born. Numerous problems with both the host and the domain registrar delayed the online debut of RPDMS. The idea for Corhian arose during this tumultuous time but the problems getting RPDMS started delayed its registration. Another registrar was eventually used for CORHIAN.COM which officially became a domain in January 2003.
Web space for Corhian was borrowed from RPDMS (it still is that way today) since Feature Price (the host company that may not have even existed as it turned out) had taken my money and eventually disappeared. After several other horror stories, it seems that the current host and registrar, , has provided excellent service and is a reasonable bargain. The registration for Corhian.com has been extended through January 14, 2020.
